Hybrid Air: innovation of the year?
This may be the beginning of a technological revolution.
PSA (Peugeot SA) engineers for more than two years working with Bosch and Rexroth hydraulic division to develop a suitable automotive hydro hybrid system.
And the figures announced are impressive. For the fourth generation prototype presented on the basis of a Citroen C3 3-cylinder petrol engine 82 hp, reducing consumption registered “blank” by UTAC already exceeds 30%, 4.5 the slightly less than 3 liters, from 104 to 72 g / km of CO2 emissions. Gain achieved despite an increase in weight of about 100 kg for installation – as much as a conventional electric hybrid system – made without compromise habitability or boot volume, but removing the spare wheel which the site is occupied by the expansion of the hydropneumatic system.
